We are committed to the safety of our families, with having a full time overnight staff as well as 24-hour monitored surveillance system and each floor has its own security keypad access. Our home is a fully functioning 10 unit apartment building with an added bonus of a community kitchen and living room. We provide free WiFi and laundry and are located across from an elementary school and playground.
We have weekly celebrations, family times, and community meals and gatherings. Geoffery’s Garden offers weekly meditation classes, spiritual classes, cooking and budgeting classes as well as 12-step meetings and a Big Book study. We are honored to have Elders and Knowledge Keepers visit our home and offer Sharing Circles, Sacred Fires, and Sweats.
Our case manager works one-on-one with parents to create a healing and recovery plan that supports them working towards a reunification plan with Child and Family Services. Weekly evaluations and drug screens are completed to ensure parents are accountable to their individual recovery and to assist them with any additional supports that may be needed. Monthly progress reports are provided to CFS workers/agencies to ensure that collaboration and communication is maintained between our program and other formal care providers.
During a parents first few months with us, we encourage children to come to and enjoy time with their parents. As parents sobriety time increases and together with CFS, family time continues to increase until final reunification occurs.
Parents can choose to live in the garden for one year. However, the length of the program is open ended and tailored to each individuals family’s specific needs. Once families are successfully reunified, we welcome them to continue to engage in any activities and events offered by Geoffery’s Garden and stay connected to their community.
